Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old mans hat
If you haven't got a penny then a haypenny will do
If you haven't got a haypenny then God bless you

Christmas is definitely different when you have kids. It is fun to see their reaction to things and the wonder. It also proves for a slightly less relaxing holiday. Thankfully Liam woke up around 7:45 this year where as last year it was around 6am. Liam did most of the present opening as Jesse and I just did stockings for each other and one big present. Santa, Mom and Dad brought an assortment of things to Liam, with a general emphasis on books. Christmas morning was spent at my parents watching them open presents and eating sour cream butterhorns. The evening was spent with Jesse's fam having the traditional clam chowder.

In all the hustle and bustle it is hard some time to remember what we are really celebrating. That is why I love the symbolism of Christmas decorations to help remind us about the reason for the season. We hope that you and your family had a meaningful and memorable Christmas this year.

Those are My Beads

A little girl at church shared her beads with Liam and since then he likes to put them on. He got some lovely purple beads at the dentist and pairs them with some of mommy's beads.

He likes to put them on but then at some point he wants them off. He can't take them off by himself very easily so
he tends to get frustrated.

Picking out a Tree

We debated about real or artificial tree this year. In the end real won. Since we have vaulted ceilings we went for a tall one. It is probably around 11 or 12 feet.It took 12 strands of lights to get all the branches covered. The decor this year is vintage red, sliver, and green. Liam has done very well at staying away from the tree (or at least not breaking anything he has touched). So, our house has felt like Christmas since the day after Thanksgiving.

An Ellis Family Affair

The Ellis Family clan gathered in San Diego at the end of October. Although the weather was kind of rainy it was a fun gathering of family and nice to get away from work. It was so nice for me to spend time with my two favorite men.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I don't get into the scary stuff, but I love the colors, the spooky things, being creative with food, my husbands pumpkin carving abilities, and dressing up. This year I was a bird, Liam was a monkey, and Jess just wore a Halloween shirt.

My Funny Honey

Liam is such a funny boy (I'm sure all kids are, but he is mine so I am biased.) He is especially great in the morning because the world is his oyster. Each morning brings with it new things to explore, new adventures, new everything. The other morning he woke up with his hair all funky. Normally his hair is flat so I had to take pictures of the funny hairdo. It complimented his mood quite nicely.

Kelby's Short Hair

There have been several people that have requested to see pictures of my hair short. I cut it off several months ago, but just haven't gotten around to showing it. I am glad that I did cut my hair and donate it to Locks of Love. Maybe it will become my thing to grow my hair out inbetween babies and then donate it afterwards.
